Welcome to the Chardnet Shopping Centre.
Chard is a market town in Somerset with a 12,000 population. It has two very commendable shopping streets. However it is not always possible to buy everything that is required. There is no haute couture for ladies , no hardware store, no dedicated baby & childrenswear shop and no fishmongers.

So to assist the locals we have started this online store for that extra shopping. The people of Chard welcome everyone to their store. If you want to visit our charming town we are just off the M5 near Taunton. We welcome visitors to this the town where powered flight was invented over 50 years before the Wright brothers.

There is so much to see and do - so break your journey to visit Chard, the jewel of Wessex and the epicentre for Devon, Dorset and Somerset.

CHAD TO BRING CCTV TO CHARD

The Chard Trade Association is happy to announce a campaign to bring CCTV to the centre of Chard. Whilst others have talked about this for months the CTA are utilising the wartime character CHAD looking over the wall. Created by George Chatterton in 1938 Chad became even more famous in the USA when the graffitti on the wall said " Kilroy was here". It was the symbol of the fighting spirit that won the war Churchil & Chad did it together with Uncle Sam. We hope that you Americans reading this will once more help us in Britain in our quest. We can then say "Kilroy helped Chard". We felt that Chad for Chard was appropriate. And in order to raise money for the CCTV we are selling Chad T-Shirts, Sweat Shirts, Tote Bags, Aprons, Caps, Mugs and Mouse pads. The CTA will pay for the merchandise and all money paid by purchasers will go towards CCTV in Chard.
